Light Therapy For
Thinning Hair - Does It Work?

Thinning Hair Fact! Light therapy for thinning hair is recognized as an effective weapon in the battle against diminishing tresses. Thinning hair causes so much anguish for those suffering from it.

And, sadly, the treatment options aren't many. Additionally, these options often require a life-long commitment and a big expense. LLLT light therapy (low level laser therapy) usually requires at least a year of sessions, and the cost is not insignificant. But, compared to other treatments, light therapy may be the best option for some.

Light Therapy For
Thinning Hair is Safe and Painless.

Light therapy works by focusing light of a particular wavelength on the scalp - these wavelengths penetrate the scalp, stimulating the production of energy at a cellular level and stimulating circulation.

This improved circulation in turn stimulates hair growth and re-growth. This LLLT Laser light therapy, which is both painless and non-invasive, has been safely used for decades throughout Europe and the Far East with no reported side effects.

Other Light Therapies
Are Used For Other Conditions.

Light Therapy Boxy There are many types of light therapy, each used for a different purpose. DPL light therapy (deep penetrating light therapy) typically uses infrared and red wavelengths, which penetrate the skin and tissues to speed the healing of wounds and injuries and reduce pain.

This type of red and infrared light therapy is also used cosmetically to rejuvenate the skin and reduce the signs of aging. Light box therapy uses blue and green wavelengths to signal brain chemical reactions which help regulate sleep and improve mood.

Light Therapy May Help You!

Light therapy used to re-grow hair is also often called LLLT (low level) laser therapy (or laser light hair therapy). This type of light therapy uses red light at a wavelength best for stimulating new hair growth. It is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration to treat hair loss. LLLT therapy works by increasing blood flow to the hair follicles, causing the hair to grow.

Some claim it can stop hair loss in close to 90% of users, and can stimulate new hair growth and re-growth in more than half. Studies show that light therapy works best if the hair loss is recent - and the more hair you start out with, the better.

Like other treatments for thinning hair, though, it does not work for everyone. If you are suffering from hair loss however, it's certainly worth a try!

Don't Want To Leave Home
For Treatment? No Problem!

Raymax LLLT Unit Hair loss clinics across the United States offer light therapy for thinning hair. But for those do-it-yourselfers who prefer doing it at home, a hand-held laser therapy device was cleared by the FDA as a treatment for male pattern hair loss and thinning hair for both men and women. Patients who have used the therapy claim their hair looks and feels thicker, fuller and healthier and they have improved hair growth.

Hair loss in both men and women can be an agonizing condition. While other treatments do exist, they include surgery or medications, both of which often come with unwanted side effects. Light therapy for thinning hair may be one of the safest bets around.
